Freebies

I know you guys like free stuff, so here's another post about various giveaways.  Way back when I got my free cereal sample from Kashi I gave them my e-mail, so they could contact me about future offers.  Last week I got an e-mail from them about their new Cardboard Challenge.  It's something about giving away granola bars and some guy eating a cardboard box.  Go to the Kashi website and you can choose from four different varieties of Kashi bars.  I thought I was special because they sent me an e-mail, but then I saw on ad for the promotion on TV.   I guess I'm not special.  I do want to see that guy eat a cardboard box though.

Next we got a free album download from Sloan and the website NoiseTrade!  If you are on the Sloan mailing list (Mike?) then you've already heard about it.  It's a "select singles" album probably because they had to narrow down the track list or else it would be like a 30 song track list.   I already have all their albums and such, so I'm not sure if I'm going to get it or not.

This last one isn't actually free because you first have to buy stuff to get your free item.  If you buy four cans of Pringles Super Stack cans you can get a free speaker which actually fits inside a Pringles can.  I bought my four cans of Pringles, but getting the free speaker is kind of a pain in the ass.  It's not like most giveaways now where you go online and enter a PIN from the product.  For the Pringles speaker you have to go Pringles.ca and print out a PDF form and then fill it out, enclose your receipts from your Pringles cans and then mail it off.  That is so much work, especially when your printer is almost out of ink and then you have to go the postal outlet and buy a stamp to mail the letter.  On top of all that it will take 10 to 12 weeks to arrive.  By then I probably won't even care, but you can still expect a blog about it.
